I can't say I've been a frequent visitor to Put-In-Bay, but I sure hope I am for several years to come. I just completed my 2nd stay at Harriet's House this past June, and I can't say enough good thing about my lodging; this is definitely the place start when trying to book a visit to the Island. I met the owners Linda and Denny last year, and they were very nice and made sure all my needs were taken care of. Now their daughter Tara, and her husband Wade have taken over the operations, and the high, but casual and comfortable standards, continue on. The rooms are very clean with all amenities most travelers need (mini fridge, cable tv, modern & well-functioning heat-a/c. coffee maker, etc). The exterior grounds are also well kept. I did have a couple of issues that housekeeping did not catch from a previous guest in my room. These were solved quickly, politely, and much to my satisfaction. It seems that either Tara or Wade are nearby, if not in the office, and they will certainly try to make you as comfortable as possible, and provide helpful information on the Islands to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Note: this is not a B&B, so if you expect a full or continental breakfast, this may not be what you're looking for. But considering the price and modern accommodations in relation to other island lodging options (and believe me, I looked around a lot), I feel that by far, this is the best value in Put-in-Bay. And besides, there are plenty of places within walking distance where you can get an awesome hangover breakfast (shameless plug for Frostys)! Again, can't say enough nice things about this place. Looking forward to my next island getaway.
